The intention of the project was to make a place of pausing, for people to look back at their history, reflect and introspect about their rich heritage that is now degrading and losing its meaning. The user is intended to explore and engage with the history in various ways; instead of merely looking at it as an architectural heritage-viewing of performances, crating of exhibitions, discussions and just wandering around an enclosed site would make it a true continuation of heritage. Design explorations took place by trying out different attitudes of building surrounding Gandhi hall, and understanding the language of the existing to reciprocate to the proposed intervention. The arrangement of spaces is such that it does not disturbs the beauty of the existing building and yet tries to merge with it.
